Banjo 111408.1

Banjo 111408.2

I may have been in a crappy mood most of the day, but I did manage to get a few photos out of it. Here's a small set of shots I took of Banjo this morning. There are two more under the cut.

307/366: the interloper

Still in a bit of a fog of disbelief over the election, but I'll just wait for my mind to catch up with reality.

Last night, I had a dream about getting a tattoo. In the dream I had finally figured out images I might want on my skin. I was talking with someone and described to them that I had settled on something art-related. The two images I remembered were of a traditional art palette with circles of color around the edges, Similar to these two. The other image that I remember was of two paint brushes forming an 'X'. Of the two, I'd get the two paintbrushes crossing each other.

I've always said that if I were ever to get a tattoo, it would have to be of something that I really felt connected to. It's possible that after all this time, I may have found that thing.

Hmmm, it might be time to break out the training wheels. Better yet, maybe I'll just strap a helmet on him, give the bike a push and see what happens. Who knows, he could be full of surprises ;D

Fascination

Caught this shot just after waking up. The camera sounds and blinking lights held Banjo's attention long enough for me to catch him being still.

The rest of my open studio weekend went very well. For the two days, I had 77 visitors and about 90% of them were people who weren't friends or acquaintances. It helped to have a couple of days of good weather along with good advertising from the organizers. This was the best open studio weekend I've had since I first participated five years ago. So, yeah, a good weekend. It was made even better with E helping out.

The only downside was that it left me pretty wiped out with a slight cold that I've been able to keep from getting worse, at least. The main thing is to get some good sleep. I would have been nice to have been able to get to one of the places Obama was speaking at, but I can't be everywhere at once.

Shoe closet and hall

Remember the 'stairway to nowhere'? Well, this is what it looks like now. A double cleaning of the stairs, some paint and a light was all it took to transform this space into something useful.

And now your Friday dose of the ball of puff known as Banjo:

275/366: light to

*note* I tried posting this entry last night, but lj was being spastic.

The cable tech showed up, even if he was here almost 45 minutes past the two hour time bracket. At least he showed up, was professional with the installation and got everything up and running in a short time.

The rest of the day was spent going here and there. After the cable installation, we had to take Banjo (yes, that's his name, officially) up to the animal shelter to be looked at for his cold. We were given some antibiotics, which we have to administer twice a day for the next 14 days. Oh, yes, its going to be a fun time, folks. As some of you may know, there is nothing more amusing to go through than giving meds to a cat...

Cat antibiotics in hand, we headed back home. Barely five minutes went by before we were on our way to Ikea for some shelving and storage units. Spent more than we thought again and vowed not to do that next time. Yeah, how much are you willing to bet that cookie jar is going to be smashed to bits?

Finally, we did some food and necessity shopping for the house this evening. Watched the last 45 minutes of the vice-presidential debate while attempting to assemble a metal file cabinet. I really need to set some limits about how much I can actually accomplish in a busy day because I was really tired and it was pretty late when I started this project. Ran into a snafu early on and that set off the grumpy-tired meter easily. Not nearly as bad as the grumpy-tired-hungry meter, but its a side of me that's not too nice to witness at times. E tried to help me with something, but I was too far gone.I convinced myself to give it up, took a shower and right after this, I'll be in bed, getting ready for another full day tomor...er, later today.
